The Regulatory Counsel supports franchise owners and office staff by. . .
 

• Helping ensure Home Instead, Inc. complies with all applicable federal, international, state, provincial and local laws and regulations.
• Providing proactive regulatory and compliance analysis and support for Home Instead, Inc.
• Providing education, awareness, best practices, and template policies/procedures for independently owned and operated franchisees in the United States and Canada, based on applicable regulations.
• Creating dynamic regulatory resources for Home Instead franchisees to use as a basis to build their own unique regulatory/compliance foundation for their independently-owned businesses.
• Conducting in-person seminars and virtual webinars for Home Instead, Inc. staff and Home Instead franchisees, providing updates and awareness on critical regulatory developments in the non-medical home care field, home health arena, and medical community.
• Regularly updating, evolving and leading all aspects of Home Instead, Inc.’s data privacy, data management document retention, and e-discovery policies and procedures, including ongoing and regular training for the Home Instead, Inc. staff.
• Providing ongoing risk management guidance to Home Instead, Inc.
• Providing ongoing vicarious liability mitigation and guidance to Home Instead, Inc.
• Performing research in areas of critical importance to Home Instead, Inc. and the Home Instead franchise network, such as FLSA, regulatory and licensing for the home care and home health industries, privacy laws, etc.
• Providing general legal advice and counsel to Home Instead, Inc.
• Providing regulatory support and guidance to the Franchise Standards team and the Government Affairs team.
• Collaborating with all Home Instead, Inc. business units to ensure enterprise-wide understanding of key regulatory/compliance issues while helping the business units achieve their team goals and the organization’s strategic intent.

Education and Experience Requirements:
 

• Juris Doctorate degree.
• 2-5 years of past legal experience.
