Apply today to join our Foundation team as a Director of Philanthropy! You’ll be responsible for creating, executing and evaluating all philanthropic strategies with a donor-centered philosophy that ensures a diverse and sustainable revenue portfolio to support the Foundation’s mission.

Director of Philanthropy responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Director of Operations & Programs to create, implement and oversee a comprehensive development program that outlines fundraising goals, solicitation strategies for key constituency groups and timeline for implementation while adhering to the Foundation’s gift acceptance policies.
  • Direct development activities including, but not limited, to the annual Home Office employee campaign, tribute giving program, direct mail and electronic appeals, major and planned gift efforts, corporate and foundation giving, sponsorship, and any special Board-approved fundraising initiatives.
  • Identify and cultivate a portfolio of major gift prospects within key constituency groups.
  • Build a culture of philanthropy while enthusiastically and successfully engaging in one-on-one solicitation and ongoing donor stewardship.
  • Work in cooperation with the Foundation Communication Manager to ensure communications, social media and e-communications activities align with and compliment the overall development plan.
  • Provide hands-on assistance and technical knowledge to ensure integrity within the e-Tapestry donor database as it relates to gift data entry, acknowledgement, receipting, record keeping, reporting and data management.
  • Manage the donor recognition program and ensure its implementation from year to year.
  • Adhere to the recommended guidelines outlined in the Donor Bill of Rights developed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and maintain the highest level of fundraising integrity.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Seven to fifteen years of nonprofit experience.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in meeting fundraising goals, executing on strategy, setting priorities and managing multiple projects in a nonprofit organization.
  • Knowledge of best practices in fundraising.
  • Experience with donor management system, eTapestry preferred.
